Product Description for BQ30 - CO2 Air Quality Monitor and Particle Measuring Device
Particle counters for air quality measurements
The discussion about particulate matter pollution in the air and its effects on health has become an integral part of our lives. But what makes particulate matter so dangerous? A basic distinction is made between the two particle fractions PM10 and PM2.5.
PM10 includes all particles with a maximum diameter of 10 µm, and PM2.5 includes all particles with a diameter of less than 2.5 µm. These particles cannot be recognised with the naked eye. They are so small that PM2.5 particles in particular can penetrate into the alveoli. Even smaller particles of less than 1 µm in size are capable of penetrating into blood vessels.
In everyday life, we are surrounded by countless potential sources of particulate matter. Regardless of whether you live or work close to a busy road or near an industrial area, it can be assumed that the fine dust pollution in the air you breathe is increased. In rooms and buildings where many people are present, the CO2 content often rises above average. However, common factors such as cooking, vacuuming, tobacco and candle smoke or emissions from heating sources such as stoves or fireplaces can also have a direct negative impact on the indoor climate and therefore on our well-being. This is because an increased concentration of particulate matter and the CO2 content in the air can not only affect general well-being, but can also be responsible for concentration and sleep disorders as well as various allergic reactions. In the long term, particulate matter increases the risk of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases and even lung cancer.
With the practical BQ30 particle meter, you can always keep an eye on the values for particulate matter, CO2, air temperature and humidity. This allows you to improve the indoor climate by supplying fresh air or by effectively using air purifiers, humidifiers or dehumidifiers.
The compact BQ30 long-term air quality monitor reliably and precisely detects both critical fine dust concentrations and CO2 levels in the air. The practical all-round measuring device also records the air temperature and humidity.
Keep an eye on the concentration of house dust, fine dust, soot and pollen
The user-friendly mobile air quality monitor detects and quantifies the mass concentrations of fine dust particles of all kinds. To do this, the measuring device uses laser technology to easily detect the smallest air pollutants of the sizes PM2.5 and PM10 in micrograms per cubic metre.
The BQ30 also enables effective long-term monitoring of particle pollution via adjustable, regular time intervals. Up to 5,000 data records can be stored, in which both the PM concentrations and the date of recording are registered. This variety of data can be displayed clearly in graphical curves on a large 3-inch colour display.
With regard to the mass concentrations of the particle size PM2.5, the BQ30 allows predefined limit values to be specified, the exceeding of which is signalled by an acoustic alarm. In addition, six-stage colour indicator graphics with respective alarm levels help to quickly assess whether the particle concentrations are considered acceptable or highly critical.
All-round measuring device for indoor climate monitoring
The handy all-round measuring device also uses its probes to simultaneously record other health-relevant indoor climate parameters: such as CO2 levels in ppm, air temperature from -20 to 70 °C and humidity from 0 to 100 % RH. The measured values for PM10 and CO2 are shown on the display in an alternating display. A further three-stage colour indicator completes the user-friendly visualisation of these two parameters especially in relation to good or poor air quality.
Benefits in practice:
- Thanks to its precise measurement results, its cordless, long-lasting battery operation, its low weight and its compact dimensions, the BQ30 air quality monitor is the perfect companion wherever evidence of a potential health risk from particulate matter and CO2 pollution needs to be provided.
