Electronic pressure switch TDP DS
Automatic control and reliable dry run protection for deep well pumps, garden and water pumps without mains plug
Ideal for automatic domestic water supply and service water use in household and garden
The TDP DS electronic pressure switch from Trotec is the reliable solution for the automatic control of deep well pumps, garden pumps, centrifugal pumps or water pumps without their own mains plug - ideal, for example, for garden irrigation, domestic water supply, water pumping, pumping water from a pool or for cleaning work.
Ensures constant water pressure in the pipe system
The compact Trotec pressure switch is installed between your pump and the connected consumer (e.g. water tap or garden hose) and the water pumping process runs completely automatically without the need to switch the pump on and off manually. In the connected pipe system, the pressure switch ensures a constant water pressure for garden irrigation or domestic water supply. The pressure switch permanently monitors the line pressure. In the event of a pressure drop, the device switches on automatically and restores the pressure. If the line pressure is reached again, the pump control switches itself off automatically. This protects the pump and extends its service life. Both the water inlet opening and the outlet opening have an external thread with a diameter of 1". The pressure switch is therefore compatible with common connections of pumps, hoses or pipes.
The solution for pumps without mains plug
The pressure switch has an open cable end and a power plug. Power is supplied to the connected pump via the 1,100 W pressure switch TDP DS. The power cable of your pump or the external pump control box must be connected to the open cable end of the pressure switch.
Note: Please note that the power supply should only be connected by trained specialists.
After the pressure switch has been connected to the pump with the power cable and integrated into the pipe system, you only need to connect the power plug of the pressure switch to your house socket. Your water pump is now supplied with power via the pressure switch and is automatically regulated by the TDP DS maintenance-free.
The TDP DS turns your water pump into a domestic waterworks
The TDP DS pressure switch is the ideal solution not only in the garden - with this automatic pump control you can also upgrade your existing water pump to a domestic waterworks, which then allows you to use service water for the toilet, washing machine or shower, for example. The electronic pressure switch ensures a constant water pressure in the pipe and protects the connected pump from damage caused by dry running, kickback effects or overheating. The practical and compact Trotec pressure switch is designed for a maximum working pressure of 10 bar. The current water pressure can be conveniently read in bar on its integrated pressure gauge. The robust plastic housing is protected against splash water from all sides in accordance with protection class IP54. The TDP DS is suitable for almost all common pump systems without its own pressure switch and without mains plug. It is also recommended as an optimal complement to the Trotec deep well pumps of the TDP series and the Trotec garden pumps of the TGP series.
This is how the automatic pump control via pressure switch works
For pressure switches, the designations automatic pump control, automatic pressure switch, pressure monitor, pressure control, flow monitor or flow control are also common. However, the mode of operation is always the same: an electronic pressure switch monitors both the water pressure and the flow rate in the water pipe. If you draw water from the consumer, the pressure in the pipe drops and a flow is registered by the pressure switch. This automatically switches on the connected pump. If you close the consumer again, the water pressure in the pipe increases and the flow stops. The pump is then automatically switched off again by the pressure switch. This protects the pump and extends its service life. The pressure switch is designed for a working pressure in the delivery system of up to 10 bar and for clear fresh water with a temperature of up to 60°C.
With dry run protection for longer pump life
In case there is not enough water in your well, pond, cistern or reservoir, the integrated dry-running protection of the pressure switch comes into effect and stops the pump automatically. As soon as the pressure in the pipe drops too much and the water flow is less than 2 litres per minute, the TDP DS detects the danger of dry running and reliably switches off your pump. The pressure switch actively prevents unnecessary further running and protects the pump from damage caused by dry running and overheating. By this mechanism the pressure switch also detects if there is a leak in the water pipe. After an LED error message due to dry running, the pump can be restarted easily by pressing the reset button on the pressure switch control panel.
Including backflow stop
The electronic pressure switch TDP DS is equipped with a non-return valve which prevents water from flowing back and protects the pump from pressure surges and pressure shock effects. The integrated non-return valve ensures that the pumped water in the connected pipe system can only flow in one direction.
The pressure of the flowing water opens the closing element of the backflow valve. As soon as the pump is switched off and the water pressure drops, the remaining water in the hose pushes the closing element in the opposite direction, closing the passage and thus preventing further discharge.
Wide range of applications around house and garden
The TDP DS pressure switch from Trotec is recommended for the following applications, among others
- Garden irrigation by hose, micro-drip system, sprinkler or sprinkler
- Allows you to convert your pump into a domestic waterworks for the supply of service water for toilet flushing, washing machines or showers
- Pumping water from wells, ponds, rivers, cisterns or basins
- Pumping off swimming pools, garden ponds or rain barrels
- Car washing or cleaning work by high-pressure cleaner
Whatever application you want to tackle - with the TDP DS electronic pressure switch from Trotec you can benefit from convenient and reliable water pressure regulation without having to switch your pump on and off manually every time.
Universally applicable with common water pumps and the following Trotec models:
The TDP DS pressure switch can easily be used for a variety of commercially available water pumps and delivery systems - either via hose connection or directly on the pump head.
TDP-Deep well pumps from Trotec
If you also want to rely on Trotec brand quality for your deep well pump, we recommend our TDP 5500 E and TDP 7500 E models. Here the pressure switch is connected to the pump via a hose connection and the open end of the pressure switch power cable is connected to the deep well pump control box.
TGP-Garden pump from Trotec
The pressure switch TDP DS also works with our garden pumps TGP 1000 E, TGP 1000 ES or TGP 1005 E. With these models you can, for example, simply screw the pressure switch onto the water outlet opening in the pump head. For power supply, the open end of the pressure switch power cable must be connected to the pump. As a particularly practical plug-and-play solution, we recommend the TDP DSP pressure switch with a practical mains socket as an alternative for our garden pumps.
Pumps with a power of up to 2,300 watts can be connected to the TDP DS pressure switch in single phase. With a three-phase connection, a pump output of up to 4,000 watts is possible.
Advantages for the practice:
- Automatic on/off switching of commercial deep well pumps, garden pumps and water pumps
- Pump control by water pressure and flow rate
- Ensures constant water pressure for domestic water supply or garden irrigation
- For pumps without mains plug: pressure switch with its own mains plug and open mains cable end for connection to the power supply of the pump (to be performed by qualified personnel)
- Designed for a working pressure up to 10 bar
- Two connections with standard 1" male threads
