Your privacy is important to us

The subject of this declaration is the collection, processing and use ("use") of personal data that is collected when you use the TROTEC® offer. Thank you for your interest in our website. Below we inform you about the handling of your data.
TROTEC® only collects and uses data if it is permitted under the data protection regulations of the German Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) as well as the German Telemedia Act (TMG). In doing so, TROTEC® always proceeds in accordance with the principles of the Data Protection Regulation, namely

  • Data economy ("as much as is really necessary ")
  • Data accuracy ("no change when data are collected")
  • Earmarking ("only as necessary to fulfil a purpose")
  • Data security ("data protection measures" e.g. SSL encryption)
  • Transparency ("process data in a comprehensible way")

According to these specifications and in each case according to the given requirements, data is only collected if this is required for the use and service of TROTEC® or if data, in particular personalised data, is required for the processing of a purchase or other services.

  1. Responsible entity
The responsible entity within the meaning of data protection law is TROTEC® GmbH (see legal notice) within the meaning of Article 4 No. 4 of EU Regulation 2016/679 ("DSGVO"). If you have any questions about the use of your data or wish to make use of the legal remedies described herein, simply use the contact form. Of course, you can use the TROTEC® offer without having to provide any information about yourself or enter any personal data. Only access data without personal reference (such as the name of the Internet provider, the type of browser used, the page from which you are visiting the site or the name of the requested file) is collected; it is not possible to trace the data back to your person. This data is used exclusively to improve our offer.

  2. No consent through use
The applicable legal provisions, in particular the Federal Data Protection Act and the Telemedia Act, are decisive for the use of your data. Insofar as data is collected for a purpose that requires your consent under these provisions, you will be asked for your express consent in each case. You can revoke the case-relevant consent you have given at any time with effect for the future and/or object to future uses of your data. The mere registration, use of the services or knowledge of this statement does not replace your express declaration of consent.

  3. Use of your data
The options for using your data are briefly described below. When you access the website via your browser or the app via your mobile device, we only collect personal data that your browser or mobile device automatically transmits to us in order to enable you to visit our website or app and to ensure stability and security. These can be in particular:

    • Your IP address,
    • Content, date and time of the request,
    • The website from which the request was forwarded,
    • The requested page,
    • The amount of data transferred,
    • Browser type used,
    • Your operating system,
    • Language and version of the browser software, or
    • Your Internet Service Provider

The processing of this data serves to:

    • Ensure a smooth connection of the website,
    • Display our services and products,
    • Make our services usable,
    • Evaluate and ensure system security and stability as well as
    • To fulfil other administrative purposes.

The legal basis for this processing of your personal data is Art. 6 para. 1 (1) lit. f DSGVO. Our legitimate interest follows from the aforementioned purposes of data collection.

  1. Collection of data
Personal data is collected when you initiate an order process or set up a customer account or register for the newsletter; in the process, personal details and the data required for processing are collected. Of this data, only those details that are required for the contractual relationship are provided as mandatory details. When you use the returning customer function, TROTEC® automatically collects and stores technical information in the server logs that your browser transmits to us. In particular, this is data that has been stored on so-called cookies (see section "Cookies") and is required for service functions.

  2. Processing and use of data
TROTEC® uses the collected data for four basic purposes, although not all data is actually used for all purposes:
    1. The data for your account concerning your person and address (inventory data) are used to establish and process the user relationship (order).
    2. We use the data on your use of the individual offers (usage data) for the technical processing of the usage service (simplified ordering). It may happen that usage data of different services are combined for billing purposes.
    3. With complete execution of the contract and complete payment of the purchase price, your data will be blocked for further use and deleted after expiry of the retention periods under tax and commercial law, unless you have expressly consented to the further use and utilisation of your data (customer account).
    4. If you register for the newsletter, your email address will be used for our own advertising purposes until you unsubscribe from the newsletter.

  3. Data transfer to third parties
TROTEC® will only transfer your personal data to third parties if:
    1. The transmission is necessary for the execution or invoicing of an order, in particular if a third party requires this data for the processing of the contractual relationship (such as credit card companies or shipping service providers; in this case, the data is only transmitted to the third party to the extent that this is necessary for the service).
    2. Insofar as there is a legitimate interest on our part, in individual cases personal data will be passed on to third parties within the limits permitted by law, who may be authorised to check the validity of the data entered (such as credit card information, account details, etc.) and creditworthiness. In the process, data is only forwarded to the offices required for processing. These are the indicated bank, among others, and the following companies with which TROTEC® works:

      Credit card verification company
      B+S Card Service GmbH
      Lyoner Straße 9
      D-60528 Frankfurt/Main

      Logistics company
In accordance with the applicable laws, government agencies may also request information or data from us in order to fulfil their legal duties, e.g. for the purpose of criminal prosecution.
Otherwise, your personal data will only be transmitted to third parties if you have given your prior consent in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 (1) lit. a DSGVO or if a legal permission within the meaning of Art. 6 Para. 1 (1) lit. a DSGVO is present.
If we transfer personal data to countries outside the European Economic Area, we ensure that the recipient of the data guarantees an adequate level of data protection within the meaning of Art. 45 DSGVO. In the absence of an adequacy decision, TROTEC® shall ensure that the recipients of the data have provided suitable guarantees within the meaning of Art. 46 DSGVO and shall in particular use the European Union' s model contracts for the transfer of data to other EU countries in the current version. When transferring data to the USA, TROTEC® will work towards obliging the recipient to observe and comply with the principles of the Privacy Shield (i.e. to recognise minimum standards in the handling of personal data).

  4. Deletion of data
If your data is no longer required for the aforementioned purposes, including billing, it will be deleted. Please note that each time data is deleted, it is initially only blocked and then finally deleted after a time delay in order to prevent accidental deletion or possible intentional damage. For technical reasons, data may be duplicated in backup files and mirroring of services. Such copies may also be deleted only after a time delay due to technical reasons. Furthermore, for reasons of commercial and tax law, there is also an obligation to retain certain data on settled transactions for a certain period of time.
